Panel

Right product, right place, real time

Panelist · Home Delivery World · Nashville, TN · May 2026

Moderated by the Wall Street Journal, alongside supply-chain leaders from Ulta and Wayfair, the panel pushed on end-to-end visibility. The position taken: omnichannel fails operationally when inventory truth is fragmented across systems that do not talk to each other. Right product, right place, real time is a data-integration outcome first and a warehouse outcome second.

With Mike Bogovich (Ulta Beauty) and Nitin Kapoor (Wayfair). Moderated by Liz Young (The Wall Street Journal).

Session

Trusted Data to ROI

Co-presenter · Syndigo Connect 2026 · Las Vegas, NV · April 2026

Made with Syndigo’s CMO and the CIO of John Boos: product data quality is not a compliance chore, it is a revenue lever with a measurable return. When the journey from source to shelf is trusted, launches accelerate and content compliance stops leaking margin. The room was shown the path from clean data to ROI as a straight line, not a hope.

With Leah Allen (CMO, Syndigo) and Britt East (CIO, John Boos and Co.).

Webinar

Becoming Agent-Ready

Co-presenter · Syndigo · Virtual · February 2026

The through-line: agent readiness is not a tool you buy, it is the state of your product data. As shoppers and AI assistants start querying catalogs directly, the brands that win are the ones whose data is structured, complete, and machine-legible before the agent ever arrives. The same claim BK Blueprint is built on, made on a vendor’s own stage.

AI in Marketing

Speaker · University at Buffalo, Center for Marketing Analysis · March 2026

To a room studying marketing analytics, the argument was that AI’s real effect on Amazon is upstream of advertising. The algorithms that decide what gets surfaced and what stays profitable increasingly run on structured product and behavioral data. Brands optimizing ad spend while ignoring their data foundation are tuning the last mile of a road that was never paved.

The Evolution of Retail and Omnichannel Commerce

Guest lecturer · University at Buffalo, Retail Marketing

A full lecture on how omnichannel actually works: shopper marketing, measurement and ROI, and repeatable frameworks over one-off tactics. Two cases anchored it and made the same point. Channels are not separate businesses to be optimized in isolation, they are one demand system, and measuring them separately is how brands miss where the money is actually made.

Tariff Turbulence

Panelist · CommerceNext · Virtual · June 2025

On a panel with Forrester’s principal retail analyst, the argument was that tariff exposure is a merchandising and data problem before it is a pricing one. Brands that could see landed cost, margin, and demand by SKU in near real time could reprice deliberately. Brands that could not were forced into blunt price moves that trained customers to wait for the next discount.

With Sucharita Kodali (Forrester Research), Michael Gunther (Consumer Edge), and AJ Patel (U Beauty). Moderated by Tracy Hermans (CommerceNext).

Modern Puzzles, Smarter Content

Guest · Beyond The Shelf · December 2025

On applying a data-driven approach to a classic category, the position was that managing content across thousands of products is a systems problem, not a copywriting one. AI helps only once the catalog is organized enough to point it at the right work. Storytelling sits on top of analytics, not instead of it.

Retail Media and Marketplaces

Guest · Mastering eCommerce Marketing, Ep. 130

On balancing online and offline retail, the argument was against treating marketplaces as a separate channel bolted onto the business. Channel diversification only pays when the team is built cross-functionally around one demand picture. And AI has a practical ceiling: it accelerates teams that already know what good looks like, and amplifies the mess for teams that do not.

Retail Media Deep Dive

Guest · eCommerce BrainTrust, Ep. 267 · November 2022

A deep dive on retail media with the host and a counterpart from KEEN. The argument: retail media gets judged against the wrong denominator. Most brands measure ROAS when the decision actually turns on incremental return, what the media caused that would not have happened anyway. Treating it as a pure advertising line is how budgets grow while true contribution stays flat.

The Rising Costs of Running a Digital Business

Guest · BWG Connect · September 2022

With shipping, retail, and advertising costs up thirty to forty percent, the case was that DTC economics had quietly inverted and most P&Ls had not caught up. Growth that looked healthy on revenue was losing money once true cost to serve was allocated honestly. The move was not more top line but to re-cost the business by channel and SKU, and cut the demand that was never profitable.

People + Process + Tech

Guest · Unpacking the Digital Shelf, Digital Shelf Institute

On how KEEN drove omnichannel success, the frame was people plus process plus technology, in that order. Technology gets the attention, but the results came from the operating model underneath it: clear ownership, repeatable process, and only then the tools. A digital-first world rewards the brands that fix how they work before they buy what they run on.

How Buffalo Games Scaled Amazon with Syndigo

Quoted · Syndigo customer success story

A vendor-published case study, quoting Matt directly, with hard operational numbers: roughly ninety percent of the catalog migrated to a single product information system, new-item launches thirty to fifty percent faster, and compliance updates across five hundred-plus products executed in under an hour where the same work had taken weeks. The point it proves is the one BK Blueprint sells: organize the data foundation and the downstream speed is not a nice-to-have, it is arithmetic.

Recognition and advisory

Awards are a lagging indicator and advisory seats are a private one. Both are listed here because they are checkable, and because the rooms that hand them out are the same rooms where the honest version of an industry gets discussed.

Industry Trailblazer

Syndigo Customer Advisory Board

Member, October 2025 to present.

BWG Connect Advisory Board

Advisor to the CEO, January 2023 to present. A guest on their podcast in 2022 before joining the board.

The topics that hold up on a stage are the ones we work on every day: where AI actually breaks in a real organization, what marketplace operators still get wrong, and why the foundation work nobody wants to do is the reason everything downstream either works or does not.
